Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies

Our Intercultural Studies students learn to engage and minister to people in the intercultural context. This training is enriched through mission trips and opportunities for cultural immersion within the degree plan.  All courses are designed to enrich students’ awareness of the world around them and to provide perspective for effective engagement within different cultures at home and abroad. 

Students choosing to purse a degree in Intercultural Studies will complete 43 hours of General Education, 39 hours of Bible survey and Theology courses, 33 hours of specific Intercultural Studies courses, 7 hours of Ministry Practicum, and 4 hours of Internship; totaling 126 hours of course requirements. Upon completion of this degree the student will be thoroughly prepared to excel in ministry within an intercultural environment.

Intercultural Studies OBJECTIVES
1

Demonstrate Biblical and Theological Foundations for Cross-Cultural Ministry. Students will articulate a sound theological framework for missions and intercultural engagement, drawing from biblical texts, systematic theology, and the history of Christian thought.

Apply Principles of Effective Intercultural Communication and Missional Leadership. Students will integrate key concepts from intercultural communication and leadership to minister effectively in diverse cultural and linguistic settings.

Analyze and Engage Worldviews within Global Religious and Cultural Contexts. Students will critically assess various world religions and cultural worldviews, formulating biblically grounded responses for evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.

Demonstrate Practical Ministry Skills in Real-World Cross-Cultural Settings. Through practicum and internship experiences, students will exhibit the ability to serve and lead in intercultural ministry contexts with cultural sensitivity and strategic effectiveness.
