The Early Scholars Program at Northeastern Baptist College offers high school students the opportunity to begin taking college courses during their junior year.  The program is designed to give students a jump start on college at a significantly reduced cost.

Early Scholars attend class with NEBC students and are held to the same academic standards. They develop research, study, and time management skills while experiencing college in a safe environment.

Receive Dual Credit
All courses taken in the Early Scholars Program meet both high school and college requirements, all in one class! Each course provides an opportunity to earn three college credits.  Ask to see a list of our partner institutions.

Tuition Scholarship
Early Scholars who subsequently enroll at NEBC to pursue an undergraduate degree will receive a scholarship equivalent to 100% of their Early Scholars tuition cost (for courses earned at the C-grade level or higher). This credit can be applied to tuition or housing.

Graduate with an Early Scholars Certificate
Upon graduation, students will receive an “Early Scholars Certificate” recognizing the completion of one of the 24-credit hour program focuses available in Biblical Studies, Business Administration, Christian Education, Christian Counseling Studies, General Studies, and Music Ministry Studies.  This certificate helps set students apart on college applications.
Graduate with an Associate Degree
Early Scholars with advanced academic potential are eligible to enroll as degree-seeking students.  Depending on a student’s motivation, it is possible for students in this track to earn an associate degree within one or two semesters following high school graduation or to complete an associate degree at the same time as their high school diploma. This unique opportunity offers associate degrees is General Studies, Biblical Studies, Business Administration, and Christian Education Ministry. 

Academic Requirement Eligible students are high school juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. High school sophomores who show exceptional academic abilities and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students who wish to enroll in NEBC math courses are expected to pass the NEBC Basic Math Assessment and to have earned a B or higher in high school Algebra I.

Application Process

  1. Complete and submit an Early Scholars application along with supporting documents online.
  2. Submit a high school transcript.
  3. Submit a recommendation from his/her high school principal or homeschool coordinator.
  4. If an online application is not possible, high school students may download the application below and mail it and all supporting documentation to Director of the Early Scholars Program, Northeastern Baptist College, PO Box 4600, Bennington, VT 05201-4600.

Tuition

  • Students dually enrolled at Grace Christian School (GCS) - $100.00 per course.
  • Students enrolled in local high schools or home school programs - $250.00 per course.
  • Students choosing to pursue an undergraduate degree at NEBC will receive a credit of up to 100% of their Early Scholars tuition (for courses earned at the c-grade level or higher) toward their first year of college. Credit can be applied to tuition.
