About

Dr. Mark Ballard is the Founding President of Northeastern Baptist College. He is the husband of Cindy, his High School sweetheart, and “Papa” to Benjamin. He earned a BA from Criswell College, and a M.Div. and Ph.D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His doctoral research focused on the preaching of one of his spiritual heroes, D. L. Moody.

President Ballard’s vision for establishing a Baptist College was first planted in his heart when he was a teenage preacher in Colorado. Through the years, the Lord refined the vision and trained the leader. Today that vision has become Northeastern Baptist College in Bennington, Vermont. The Lord used 30 years of preaching and more than 20 years of pastoring, church planting, and new ministry development to prepare him to lead the college. His pastoral years included 10 years of leading and teaching in a Bible Institute.President Ballard is a sought-after conference speaker, seminar leader, professor, and author. He is the publisher for Northeastern Baptist Press, whose mission is to develop, publish, and distribute biblically based and doctrinally trusted resources that lead people to know, follow, and serve Jesus Christ. Some recent titles by Ballard are Words Matter, The Preaching of D.L. Moody, and Does it Still Matter.

President Ballard leads the college with a consistent commitment to Biblical principles. His vision has captured the hearts of a gifted, qualified, and effective faculty, staff, and administrative team. They follow his leadership with faith in God and enthusiastic determination to fulfill the Purpose and Mission of NEBC for God’s glory and the good of the students.
